Course Overview

The Certificate IV in Information Technology (Networking) program is for anyone seeking to commence or advance a career in IT systems administration and networking. The program teaches essential network, server, and modern desktop management skills. Students should learn how to build and maintain IT networks, manage and secure servers, desktop devices, and applications. This course is available online and face to face at the Gold Coast campus.

The program enables students attain industry recognised credentials by providing the relevant training within the curriculum. The content is contextualised for Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Endpoint Management. The industry credentials taught are Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, and Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA). The training prepares students to take the respective certification exams.

The training is delivered via instructor led classroom training and online eLearning. Students will access a number of high quality online learning environments including video and interactive audio-visual environments. Students will be awarded the qualification on successful completion of all the assessment activities in the course.

A number of subjects included in this course cover the training requirements for specific industry certification programs. Successful completion of such a subject does not on its own entitle a student to the related certification. External certification exams must be passed in order to obtain the respective certification. Fees will be charged by the certifying authorities. Information about how to obtain these certifications will be provided by the course instructors. While students are encouraged to obtain the related certifications, these are not required to successfully complete the course and be granted the associated academic award.
